U.S. Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, and the Association Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)<\/strong> collectively announced a major update to age group formation that will take effect beginning with the 2026\u201327 seasonal year. This change moves away from the current calendar-year (January\u2013December) model and returns to a seasonal-year (August\u2013July) model for age grouping. As we prepare for the upcoming 2026\u20132027<\/strong> season, BUFC will be aligning our age group structure with the national shift from a calendar-year birth model to a seasonal, school-year model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This change is taking place across youth soccer nationwide and will impact clubs throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We understand that structural adjustments can bring questions, and we want our families to know that every decision is being made thoughtfully \u2014 with player development, stability, and long-term growth at the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
